Luxury Mexican beach vacation

Hello
My husband and I want to go on a luxury (within reason) beach vacation and have read great reviews about the Four Seasons Punta Mita and Ritz in Cancun. We are not party types and like peace and quiet. It seems from the reviews that the FS PM would be a great choice. Is the beach swimmable and any reason we shouldn't go in mid August (too unbearably hot)??

I'm going to Punta Mita in July, I'll let you know if it's too hot ! I, too, am wondering about beach swimmability...
The Ritz would be a great choice, too, the beaches in Cancun are great and August is fairly quiet there...

If you want luxury and peace and quiet, then the FS Punta Mita is the right choice! (Although expect more kids than usual since it is the summer). Can't comment about the summer weather as we were there in April but there were people swimming. There are two beaches, the family beach which the breakfast restaurant overlooks and has the water toys. The other beach is nicer, a long beach with palapas, this is the "quiet" beach. It's our favorite resort and we've been to quite a few.

I just came back last night from Punta Mita and let me tell you it is FANTASTIC...

It is true that there are children, however, the resort is sooo big and there are space for everybody, you can stay at the adult pool or the nice beaches.

Will post my experience later.

I did yoga, tai chi, snorkeling, kayaks, ando more complimentary activities... please go there.
