Liberia Hotel
Does anyone know of a reasonable Hotel in Liberia to stay in prior to an early morning flight?
Has anyone stayed in Liberia and explored the town? Recommendations for sights to see around Liberia?
We will also be in Mal Pais, the Osa Peninsula and Arenal area during this trip.

There are a couple of badly needed new hotels in progress. Perhaps they are finished by now and someone can give you more information.
I don't know what time your early morning flight, but Playa Hermosa is only a 30 min. drive from the airport (or less) and it might be fun to spend your last night right on the beach at Hotel El Velero (pretty laid back).
Exploring Liberia is simple--not much there. We like to eat at a little restaurant across from the square and the church called Paso Real--upstairs and overlooking the square.
There is a fairly new (and decent) mall you could explore, but malls are malls!

HI,
We stayed at Hotel Bromadero in Liberia quick taxi to the airport. Had a pool and the rooms were clean.
Pretty basic but who needs much more.
Enjoy, we are going in February for a couple of months.

El Bramadero is a Liberia tradition, every costarican that ever travel to Liberia had been at least for lunch there, the best Coconut flan in the country, the owners 100% costarican, Rodrigo and Ana Ortiz.
Simple , good prices and good food, and only about 15 minutes to the Airport.

There are a couple of Best Westerns there, not sure of the names, the El Velero in Playa Hermosa is a good idea, or a little bit further are the Ocotal Beach Resort, or the Casa Villa Blanca in Ocotal, which then makes it about a 45 minute drive to the airport....
