We started taking my daughter to PV when she was 4 or 5 years old. Be sure to stay at a hotel with great pool(s) for kids (we like the pools at the Krystal hotel, but lots of hotels there have great pools). Things we have done with her on our trips have included horseback riding, bay cruise, whale watching boat, walking around the Malecon especially on Sunday evenings, shopping, walk the beach and look for shells, go to the marina and look at the beautiful boats, have a kiddie cocktail at the top of the lighthouse bar at the marina (great view), most hotels offers kids programs and the Krystal even has a guy with ceramics for the kids to paint almost every day. Go to the flea market, take a day trip to a waterfall or jungle tour. I can't even list them all here! Tons to do there with kids.

Hello! I too will be traveling to PV with 2 kids soon ages 3 and 5 so was interested in responses. We will be staying at a place that I have heard mostly very good things about called the Qualton Hotel and Spa, which has an excellent childrens program daily and is also very good value. Maybe you want to check it out?!? i have noticed negative postings about the Kyrstal while checking things out on this site but don't know anything first hand. I hope "we" get some more responses!! What we like about the Krystal is mostly the grounds. 30+ acres with no high-rise buildings, full of beautiful vegetation. The rooms have red tile floors, and feel very "Mexican". The main pool is great, right on the ocean with 2 main swim up bars. There is another pool with a big slide and another more quiet "laid back" pool also. Outdoor restaurant on the ocean to eat a great breakfast buffet and last year we saw whales and dolphins in the bay while eating breakfast. It certainly is not the most upscale resort in town, but we like it, especially because we have a child with us.

Thanks for the replies but we already have a place to stay.
We are staying at the Villa De Palamar which I believe is next store to the Qualton. Does anyone know if you can use the kids program at the qualton if you aren't staying there?
Also I was looking for info on activities. Some activites look appropriate for families with small kids (6yrs-under)but I wanted some input on what people think and also what to avoid.
Thanks again.
Karen
