Info regarding El Dorado Royale

Looking for information about the El Dorado Royale resort at Punta Brava Beach. Is there much of a beach there and general reactions to the food and accomodations. Also any other good web sites with info and/or trip reports would be helpful. Muchas Gracias!!!!!

The El Dorado Royale is really nice. Rooms, service, food all good. However, the beach is "crunchy", that corally sand that is not really soft. You can walk about 5 minutes down and it does get a little better. Playa Del Carmen has the beach sand beaches in the area if the beach is really important.

Was there March 2002. I booked Ocean view was upgraded to Casita. When I arrived at CUN airport on a Thursday, I had a white stretch limo to myself (this is I am sure an exception, not a rule). The hotel was very nice, but the cable tV sucked big time and the food could have been better. Everyone who worked there was terrific. No top shelf drinks but they had ROOM SERVICE and SERVICE AROUND THE pool. All in all, I might consider this hotel again.
