OK - I am having a terrible time I have filled out the form and sent it twice in a 4 week period and received no response - does someone have an actual e-mail address or how did you reach them? Thanks so much for any help! Also do you know which car agencies are in Fortuna and also Monteverde?

Once you get a hlod of them, they will email you a form to fill out with your credit card # that you will fax back to them.

I stayed there last year and loved it! Have a great time!

Email responses are notoriously slow at many a hotel in Costa Rica. So, my advice would be to call them or wait it out.

do they have a fax number? this is how we made most of our reservations for our upcoming CR trip as many of the hotel websites do not have sufficient security (at least for us) to put in a credit card number

Welcome to my world! Even as a travel professional that specializes in this destination, I stll pull my hair out at times.

Are you going at a particularly busy time? I have found that if they can not accomodate you, they won't answer. I am guessing that they don't wish to disappoint you by being the bearer of bad news. (I'm not kidding).

There are no car rental agencies in Monteverde. Why are you asking?

Well we first tried to stay at Tabacon - they finally told me i could not make a reservation unless i went through a large travel agency! I am a travel agent but they told me they do not pay commissions but according to their website they do so i gave up and thought ok we will stay at los lagos but as you know cannot get anyone to respond. Stayed at Arenal Paraiso last time but would like to try something different and not the lost iguana. We are going for 3 nights in March and we are 4 people. As far as the car we thought we would rent a car in Arenal - turn it in- take the boat jeep to Monteverde and then rent a car from there for the last 2 weeks. Also since you asked is there a casino in Monteverde? Thanks!

have you tried contacting the people at arenal.net -- they got back to me very quickly about availability of hotels on their site
