Credit Card info when making a reservation for hotel

I'm curious if anyone out there has given all there credit card info over an email to make a hotel reservation? I have called the Art Hotel to make my reservation and they told me that I must send my info via email with my security code on the back of my card. I'm a little paranoid to do that. Any feedback from anyone?

I just answered this on your other thread.
Did they say to just send it in your email or on a secure email site of theirs?

I have done this once before , for an apartment in Paris.

If you have qualms about sending things in email, just send the fax.

I agree with Scarlet, send a fax. I am not sure they would have a secure site.

I ended up doing this a couple times for an upcoming trip to Colombia.

I sent part of the credit card number in one e-mail, and the rest of the number and the security code in another. Certainly not ideal, but so far so good.

I also sent my info in 2 different emails.

I don't worry about it as much as some people do.
I've had my Visa number hi-jacked twice and both times it was at a gas station. SO it can happen anywhere you use the card. The last time was on Valetines day last year. SOmeone charged $2000 for airline tickets to my number.
But I've never had a problem on the internet.
