Honeymoon in Playa del Carmen--where to stay?
I am planning out an early July honeymoon in the Riviera Maya area, and have decided to stay for several nights in Playa del Carmen. I have read such good reviews about Hotel La Tortuga on tripadvisor, and I wondered if anyone on this board had stayed there, and what they thought.
Any other ideas? We're looking for someplace to stay in the $200 a night price range, near the action but not too noisy. No AI. Definitely a/c, and near the beach.
Thanks!

La Tortuga is very nice but a few blocks from the beach. Riviera Del Sol is closer to the beach but not quite as nice as far as the pool area and interior common area. Playa Maya is on the beach and is nice also.

Hi, I donīt know about the LA TORTUGA hotel but I can highly recomend to you the hotel LAS PALAPAS.Check out: www.divemex.net/html/palapaen.html
It is at the beginning of 5th Avenue, mostly quiet and still in the center. Amazing atmosphere and incredible beach just in front of your palapa.
If I would go to Playa for honeymoon I would stay in LAS PALAPAS.
;-) Good luck to you

La Tortuga would be an awesome place for a honeymoon. We stayed there a couple of different times - the swim up rooms are wonderful! Have a great time - and check out www.playa.info - lots of great information on PDC there.
