I am planning a trip to Buenos Aires and Mendoza this October and will be departing from Mendoza back to New York with a connection in Santiago all on Lan Chile. Lan's website says that we need to get to the airport in Mendoza 4 hours before departure time. Has anyone else flown this route? Do you really need to be at the airport 4 hours in advance? It seems like a very long time. We are trying to determine how many days in Mendoza and want to figure out how much of it will be at the airport!

I hour ahead should be ample time. Mendoza is not exactly a large airport.

Be sure to sit on the right side of the plane, it is the most amazing views of the big Andes and Aconcagua! Suerte!

I did the flight several times and usually arrived two hours or so before which was fine. I agree with Soulskier, I had beautiful views over the Andes. Have a good time!

i also flew that route more than once. Good advice is you can sit on the right side . Once we flew very close to the Aconcagua and was amazing. Beautiful.
It is short and nice flight.
