Easter in PV?

Hi, I'm considering a trip to PV the week of March 15th--I teach so no flexibility on the time. I've been to PV via cruise ship and liked it so much really want to go and spend a week. But, am concerned about crowds as it is the week before Easter. Anyone know anything about this? Also, would be traveling alone (50's single female) so wondered if anyone else had done this/what your thoughts on this would be? Thanks

The week before Eastern - Semana Santa - is always very busy.
Not only in PV, but in most coastal resorts.
Yes it is safe to travel around there, but stay away from dark areas at night.

"stay away from dark areas at night."
Our sidewalks are not all smooth, you may trip and hurt yourself.

I think it is a wonderful idea IF you can find a hotel reservation at this late date. The week before Easter is THE single busiest week of the year for visitors.

I am your age also single female and have been going to Vallarta at least annually for years.

I always have a fabulous time & never once encountered anything negative (that I didn't bring on myself!). As above the dangers in PV are self-inflicted... like a sunburn, hangover, not watching out for high curbs, uneven pavement. losing your hotel room key (not that I would personally know about any of those things!).

Hi, thanks all for the advice. Hmmm, will maybe check those hotel reservations to see if this is even a viable idea

Hi Libby fron what I have been told about Semana Santa (Holy Week) before Easter you can't even walk the beaches are full of Mexicans from all over Mexico. If you don't mind the crowds then go for it, I guess being a tacher you really don't have much of a choice, just be prepared for the crowds. Enjoy

If you need hotel recommendations, let us know what kind of place (and general price) you're seeking.
