Cozumel hotels and noice

Can anyone give advice about where to stay in San Miguel or near that won't be real noisy. We will be there Dec. 31-4 and I expect partying on New Year's Eve. Thanks

I would stay at a hotel away from town! In fact, I think the town is always too noisy and would never want to be near the center of things. Cabs are cheap and there are several nice places on the water north and south of town.

Personally I like to be in town. Last time (beginning of 2000), we stayed in a little place just a few blocks from the centre of town. The location worked out great for us. It was owned by a couple who also have a B&B, but we had a little 'unit' with a microwave, bar fridge, etc. I really enjoyed it.

Take a look at Hacienda San Miguel.

http://www.haciendasanmiguel.com/

It is located in a very residential area on the north end of downtown. You could walk everywhere, but it should be quiet (although I heard they have roosters next door). They don't have a beach or pool though, if that is a need.

We stay at Coral Princess resort. Its pretty low key. You could also try a private condo or house to be totally in control of the noise situation. I think you can expect a little party at any resort, but it really shouldn't be a big problem. We go to Cozumel for Carnival - which IS a big deal and the noise at night is never a factor.

You're right TC - it was Carnival the last time we visited Cozumel and it was terrific fun.

Dianne, Glad you picked Hacienda San Miguel. It is so quaint. Do let me know how you like it after your stay.
