Costa Rica Marriott Hotel San Jose
Hi Guys!
I am planning a trip to Puerto Rico in March. I am getting free stay in the Marriot on account of my Marriot points. Do you think it is a good call... i mean is it far off from the main city and other things around ( i mean the rain forests and volcanoes..oh! the beaches too??)
Also, if anyone has stayed there, could you tell me how is the hotel? I am getting mixed revies from other sites
Thankx for your help

The Marriott is a bit out of town that's for sure but very nice hotel (18 years running hotel's so I have some experience in what's done right or not)...
You can certainly do some day trips from there - Poas Volcano and the coffee farms, you could probably do rafting but it would be a long day - very early pick up...
I have heard of people doing the Pacific beaches for the day - about 1-1/2 hours - which is what we drive here in Panama for a day at the beach...
Can you swing a few nights at the Marriott Los Sueños - that's also very nice and on the coast, golf course and you could do day trips to rainforest and beaches more easily from there.
Cheers,
Andrew

I agree with AndrewW. I thought San Jose was really icky, but Los Suenos was (as its name implies) a dream. They also arranged tours from the resort to almost anything you'd want to see. You don't want to drive yourself in Costa Rica unless you absolutely have to...you just DON'T. Here's a link to my trip review of Los Suenos, if you're interested. Have fun! It's a beautful country.

Guys- I think the OP is asking about the Marriot in Puerto Rico, not Costa Rica.
Too bad, as I like the Costa Rica Marriot in San Jose too. I have never been to Puerto Rico and cannot comment on your query- check tripadvisor

Thanks sweet polly.. the trip report was great. I am thinking of theMarriott Los Sueños as my Marriot points can be used there too.
greenfieldhunter.. i was waxing and waning between both these places.. and yes.. i am way too confused about the names...
But, i think i will be going to Costa Rica and am booking in the Marriot there this week.
Thanks for your input tho
