Costa Maya Beach Access
Eight of us are taking a cruise in February. We are in our early 60s. One of our ports is Costa Maya, We are looking for beach access that would have a chair and umbrella available to rent and have access to food and drinks. Does anyone know of any hotels/ resorts that would allow this or are there any public beaches within a short cab ride to the cruise pier?

You’ve posted this on the European Forum. Costa Maya is in Mexico so you might want to ask the moderators to move it to the Cruise Forum or the Mexico and Central America Forum or repost your question there.
Costa Maya is a “purpose built” facility specifically designed for cruise ships with shops, free pools , a small beach, bars, restaurants, etc. there are no major resorts but there are a couple of “private” beach clubs where you can rent umbrellas and lounge chairs. Most are about a 15 to 30 minute drive from the port. You can get a taxi to take you but you’ll probably find the cost will be about the same as taking the “beach excursion” offered by your cruise line and you’ll end up at the same place since the cruise ships all go there.
Google “Costa Maya” and you’ll find lots of info.

Thank you. They one beach club excursion that the cruise offered was $50 each and did not mention if it included a chair and umbrella. It has a "lively open bar" which is probably why it is so much. Thanks for noting I posted in the wrong section,
