Costa Maya beach

Reposting here, as no replies on the Cruise forum.

Can anyone suggest a nice, low-key beach with some gentle snorkeling not too far by taxi from the cruise port?
We're 4 adults, so not especially interested in family-friendly.
Thanks.

I have no idea where your cruise port is. Puerto Morelos is known for its gentle snorkeling.

Thanks, kja.
Not sure where the cruise port is either.
I'll have to do some homework

Define “not too far”.

When we stopped in Costa Maya about 4 or 5 years ago the closest beach was about a 20 minute drive from the Port area. Snorkeling there was not very good.

kja-
Port of Costa Maya turns out to be about 100 miles south of Playa del Carmen.
What amenities there are were built by the cruise lines - they also tarted up the adjacent village.

RoamsAround-
20 minute drive is doable. Do you recall the name of the beach? Was there much seagrass there?

Thanks.
