Ceiba Del Mar

Anyone with info on this hotel on the Riviera Maya south of Cancun. What is the beach like and how is the food? e would get the lowest level room which the hotel says still has ocean view. Thanks.

We are headed there in a few weeks, so I can let you know then. It gets amazing reviews on TA. I hear the beach does have seaweed, but is wide. I've also heard the food is very good, but it is within walking distance to many great local restaurants and some fine dining (John Grays) I actually won the trip on skyauction for about 40% off the lowest room rate. Hope this helps a little

Funny that you jumped from the Westin to Ceiba del Mar since we did the same. I'm also headed there in a few weeks. Perhaps when Beachbum2 is there as well. I picked it based on trip adviser reviews and since it is not all inclusive. It sounds like the water is not as clear due to the reef but having the reef to snorkel is a plus too. Read the reviews on TA since they answer your questions.

I'm still considering the Westin and a Villa room beachfront at the Hilton--both cheaper than Ceiba but Ceiba seems like it has an amzing feel and we may splurge. I did read the reviews on TA but sometimes you can get more pointed answers on these forums. Thanks for the info. Much appreciated.

There is an auction that ends on the 19th for Ceiba. You can't go wrong. If the dates you want aren't available, you are able to back out without penalty. At almost half off or potentially more, you can't loose. detraveler,
We will be there Jan 31-Feb2

We did stay at Ceiba and loved it. No crowds and great service. Walking to town each day for lunch and or dinner was fun too. No issues at all - would definately stay there again. If you are looking for night life this is not your spot. If you are looking for relaxation this is it.

Thanks, it sounds like my kind of place. What kind of room did you have? Any problems with the water?
