Cancun Weather in June? Raining? Really??

I just checked the weather report on weather.com for Cancun and it says that it will be raining for the next 10 days!!! Is that right? I'm arriving on Sunday, June 13th.

I'm getting a little nervous! I need a tan...........badly.

Well, it IS the rainy season ;-) That said, it would be highly unlikely for it to rain 24/7 for 10 days. More likely a storm might come overnight, or blow thru in the afternoon for a few hours.

Rainy season, according to Fodor, starts mid-September and lasts until mid-November. We're not quite there yet.

I wouldn't mind a shower here and there but the weather report makes it look like constant showers every day. I don't typically rely solely on these reports hence this posting.

I hope they are very wrong!

It is so hot right now I'm inside. The rain comes and goes...last night a little and today none at all. I wouldn't worry.

We went to Cancun last year with a weather report that read the same. We had one HUGE storm that knocked out the better part of a day, and then a few other days had rain showers that came and went, and the rest of the time the weather was fine. Do bring a lightweight breathable raincoat, though, if for no other reason than to ensure that it won't rain!

Oh yeah, we got rained out of Chichen Itza. Check out the photo (waterproof camera)--pretty funny. http://www.markandmonica.com/Photos/...991_large.html

Rather than a raincoat, if you're concerned, I think a tiny travel umbrella works better than a jacket when it'a raining & HOT.

I have watched Cancun weathr over the last 10 years, and it really does seem to rain a lot in May/June.
