Cancun Weather?

I am thinking of taking a trip to Cancun within the next two weeks for a sunny vacation. I see that the weather report states cloudy and rainy weather. Is this common for Cancun this time of year or does is it simply afternoon showers but mostly sunny? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

We have been to Cancun twice and the best time we had was in April. IF it rained at all (which i don't think it did) it was a quick 5 minute shower in the afternoon while it remained sunny. It will be beautiful. I found Spring also best b/c there were no mosquitos like in the Fall. Have a great time..we are going back in June!

Amber,
Thanks for the information! One last question: If you had your choice would you stay at the Cancun Palace or the Hilton in Cancun? Thanks again!

I don't know anything about the Cancun Palace, but I am sure someone on this forum does. However, I heard that the Hilton is GREAT!!!

We returned from a week in Cancun yesterday. Before we left I checked weather.com and they showed scattered thunderstorms all week. We saw rain when we landed and on the day we left. Otherwise the weather was beautiful. Sunny and in the 80's everyday. We ordered the Entertainment Plus card before we left and Brian Boston brought it to our hotel room. The Blue Buyou was our favorite, but all the others were fantastic. Also took the jungle tour. It was a fantastic trip. Here is the email for the card.

I am going to PV next week, and the web shows rain is scheduled...I am convinced of a weather conspiracy where they try to scare you before leaving into thinking it will rain so that when you arrive in Mexico and have sunshine, you're even more grateful.

If you're concerned about location Cancun Palace is more central whereas the Hilton is close to the end of the strip.

das, I also have the 2x1 card and I will be in Cancun next week. Which restaurants would you recommend for a family with two kids ages 9 and 12? Thanks.

Dear Isb, It would be hard to beat the prices and view (eat outside) for lunch at Cafe Salsa, JW Marriott. First they brought chips and salsa. The sandwiches ($9, $4.50 with the discount) came with fries and a huge dish of fresh fruit. We had enough leftovers for our dinner. Come and eat is a food court in the beautiful La Isla Mall. The kids will love this mall. Carlos and Charlies is great for kids if you go for lunch or early dinner. Eat early at Latina's to see the sunset. The food was great and inexpensive. You'll be impressed with the presentation. We ate dinner at the Blue Bayou, La Capilla's, and Faro's. Perico's, downtown, isn't on the card, but the kids would like this place. Have a fantastic trip.
