Cabo vs. Puerta Vallerta in September
We are planning our honeymoon in Mexico for September and are deciding between Cabo or Puerta Vallerta. We mainly want to hang out by the pool and on the beach - we would like to find a few fun excursions to go on. Any suggestions for which one is best and what hotel to stay at - we are looking at All Inclusives. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

I've been to both. Because you mention September, I would definitely pick Cabo, because it's still "rainy season" in Vallarta.
That said, there aren't all that many all-inclusives in Cabo. Dreams or RIU are two you could look at. If you are willing to go not-AI, that opens up a lot more places.

Sorry but I disagree about one necessarily being cheaper. I vacationed in Cabo earlier this year for the first time, for exactly the same price as a week in PV usually costs me for similar hotel, restaurants, etc. And my plane fare (Seattle) was way less.

September is absolutely the worst month in Cabo because of the heat and humidity, and risk of hurricanes. I can't imagine PV is much better, as it is the same climate region.
Friends of mine that have a home in Cabo would never go there in September. Far too uncomfortable. 90+ degrees and 87% humidity. Yuck.
Personally, I would chose Hawaii in September.

PS I 'd choose The Quinta Real in Guadalajara for a hot weather Honeymoon. In Fact We did just that in '98 returning many times again. Great Weather, Sights, shopping, Food & people. Safe, Secure a true Mexican delight!
PS Check out the Spa suites there.

stewbear~ but I AM a non-AI tourist and do not find PV 'far cheaper' than Cabo San Lucas. I know you don't care for it personally, but my first/most recent vacation there was no more expensive than the ones I usually do, in a similar style in Vallarta.
I do agree with you about sending these folks to Guadalajara or Zijuatenejo instead of either!
