Cabo Esperanza or Palmilla?
Out of these 2 resorts which one would you pick? The price is basically the same, high! I am leaning towards Esperanza because it seems smaller, but any adivce or help would be appreciated. We will be spending a few days at a larger resort and then end our trip with 3 or 4 nights at one of these places. thanks so much for the help.

This isn't much help, but I couldn't decide either so I'm staying 4 nights at each in June. Don't know if you're traveling after that so I can give you a first-hand account, but from all I've heard, they're both supposed to be amazing. Both were just featured in Andrew Harper's latest newsletter and he said both were excellent and you can't go wrong with either. Looking forward to it!

Thanks john. we are going to go in June as well. I tend to think that you cant go wrong either. I am from NYC and there was a little blurb in the NY Post to day about palmilla. i think my wife would rather go to esperanza so i guess the decision is made.

I have been to esperanaza twice, and loved it. Although it only has 50 rooms, it has great ammenities. A world class spa, two pools, unbelievably scenic location. The service is really wonderful. Esperanza does not allow children at the main pool area, which is why we return( not that there is anything wrong with kids, I have 2 of my own).
If you have specific questions, I would be happy to address them.

thank you ellene. Any thoughts or comments would be great. I think we are going to spend 4 nights at the Westin, using points, and then SPEND 3 nights at esperanza. During the first part of our stay we will play golf and do other things so that we can enjoy being at esperanza. The no kids thing is nice for us since some people still refer to us as kids, 29 and 27. is there anything you would suggest we do? is there anyplace we should or should not eat? thanks again.

The best thing to do at esperanza is nothing. You can definitely still play golf, if you have been playing at the westin, and want to try other courses, there is the new one at palmilla. We like Edith's in cabo for dinner, as well as mi casa. The hotel does a tequilla tasting which is fun, and you actually learn something. Have not done much else there, as we prefer to just sit by the pool or on our terrace. If you dive, the diving is supposed to be great the time of year you are going, I usually go in January, and the water is too cloudy to get decent visibility. The couples clay bake is a great treatment for 2 at the spa, you should book your spa appointments two weeks in advance, as they book up pretty quickly. We have always rented a car as my husband travel's off property for golf, plus the taxi to and from the air port is about 80 each way. Cabs into cabo ran about 15$. To the other golf resorts, about $10 each way. Try ventanas for dinner one night, the food was the best we had in Cabo, but it was very expensive, with a rediculously over priced wine list.
The restaurants at esperanza are delicious. The food is greatly improved in the last year with their new chef. The palapa is the grill restaurant by the residence in, and there is the main dining area by the hotel.
Have a great time, I am jealous as I wont be back until January

We just returned from Palmilla which was absolutely fabulous. I work in the travel industry (no discounts anywhere this time of year) so I went to see Esperanza but preferred the location and, from what I could tell, service at Palmilla. It was one of the original resorts in Cabo and that feeling has been well maintained. I can't wait to return. I would definitely put it above Las Ventanas- I don't think there's a room you can go wrong with at Palmilla.

We stayed at Esperanza last Thanksgiving. We had a 2 bedroom suite in the owner's area with a pool. The room was fantastic.
We loved the resort - but beware - there is no useable beach. The pools are lovely and the view amazing. We also enjoyed the food there. But I second Edith's and mi casa.
Our favorite side trip was the desert ATV tour - the highlight of our trip.
