Prices are posted and we've never tried to negotiate. Here's a site showing shuttle prices to San Jose and the corridor (you can check to see if your condo is on the list to see which 'zone' and price they feel you are in) ...
http://www.cabosanlucastours.net/Airport-Shuttle.htm ... the run of the mill shuttles at the airport may be a couple bucks cheaper, last time I used one it was $12/passenger but that was several years ago.
For four or fewer people it's usually cheaper to use the shuttle and since you're in San Jose you'll be one of the first to be let off, which is convenient. With five or more it's usually a better bargain to get a cab.

Hi Pat,
I think it says on the site they will stop anywhere, the list of hotels/condos is just to give you an idea of which 'zone' (price) is which.
Also many of the 'cabs' are vans so with 8 people and not much luggage you will be fine ... what I'd do is just talk to someone at the taxi desk right outside baggage claim and tell them you need a private taxi for 8 and they'll give you an oversized van, which will be a bit more than a 2 person cab but still less than paying to shuttle 8 people.
Would help speed up the flow at the desk if you know in advance which hotels your condo is close to, or if you bring a map showing it. But should be no problems ...
