Business Trip to Colombia - Bogata

I'm going to Bogata, Colombia on a business trip in mid-December. We will have very limited free time - but are there are "must dos" that are right there in Bogata? Also, could anyone give me an idea of appropriate attire - I figure it's probably pretty warm there...... Thanks for any help you can provide....

The gold museum. It's also not that warm there because it is at altitude. Smartish trousers, shirts with collar and shoes is what the locals would wear..

Weather will be in the 50s and 60s in December (10-20 C). The altitude keeps it cool. You will need warm clothes. Pack as if NYC right about now, in October!

This is great - I would have packed summer clothes. I did hear it tends to rain alot in December - have you experienced that?

It will get pretty cold at night being at altitude there is less cloud cover - meaning the heat isn't blanketed in. A jumper will be necessary. It probably is rainy season in December. I would take a cagoule and fold-up umbrella.

Hi Debi:

I worked in Bogota for 6 months a few years ago...I agree with the Gold Museum as a must see. Also, you may want to take a walk around La Castellana, close to the main square downtown.

If you want recommendations for restaurants, drop me an e-mail...Food is very good in Bogota!

Regards,

Enrique
