Belize in April and where???

I am interested in visiting Belize sometime in April for a week but I am wondering how the weather will be. We visited Costa Rica last April and it rained almost the whole time. I'm looking for a rather upscale resort ($200-$300 per night). Would prefer it to be on the beach but if there is better weather inland (or anywhere else) I can sacrafice the sand. We really just want to relax and eat well; I will be 7 months pregnant! We did the whole adventure thing in CR. I havent narrowed down my search for which city to stay while in Belize. Any suggestions will be of great help.

April is usually the driest month of the year in Belize. It tends to be hot and dry inland. The cayes and coast benefit from the prevailing breezes from the sea.

I'd suggest Ambergris Caye. It has the biggest selection of hotels and restaurants in Belize and all but three or four of the island's hotels are on the water.

Inland will be hotter. Vic House does not have tv and Ambergris does not really have another boutique hotel such as VH with tv and a pool. It has nice condo hotels with all those ameneties. Take a look at www.robertsgrove.com in Placencia, with pool, a/c, cable tv, internet, room and pool service-thats the ticket...
