Back from Mexico

Just back from our trip to Mexico. Got good advice from people on this forum. Stayed at Hotel Catedral in MC, great location. Bused to Jalapa, Villahermosa. Checked out Palenque, Agua Azul, Miso Ha. Bused across to Hautulco, Oaxaca and back to Mexico City. What a trip, 4 teenagers had the experience of their lives! Thanks to all who gave advice. Vanda

Did the church bells drive you crazy at the Hotel Catedral? I read in one of my travel books that they ring every 15 mins. Other than that, the hotel sounds great & I would like to stay there on my trip in April.

I've stayed at the Catedral twice and we've never noticed a problem with the bells. It's a very good hotel and the location is terrific.

Also never noticed a problem with the church bells at the Hotel Catedral. A very good hotel--at a good price.

Just finally got back to this forum, looking for a cheap hotel near the MC airport for another sister. Our trip was 4 weeks long so it wasn't all that busy. It was so cloudy on the east coast that the quick trip to Hautulco was absolutely needed for a hot sun fix and a little hotel relaxation. It was great to see so much variety in the country. I want to go again and spend time in Oaxaca and the Chiapas it'll be a while though unless I win the lottery.
