ZAGREB- unpopular? what to do?
we will have 2 nights in zagreb; really, it is just a stopping place from budapest into croatia. i just don't see many posts or interesting suggestions on zagreb. anybody been there who loves it? what should we do with our brief time... or anybody think we should scratch it from our plans??

I am afraid I can't say Zagreb is unpopular, it is just less visited. I spent 2 nights in Zagreb few years ago, quite enjoyed it. The walk in the old town with beautiful architecture, watching night life in Governor Jelacic Square, and museums, you could easily find enough to do for more than one day.
Or you could try a day trip to Plitvice National Park- very scenic, lovely for day-hiking.

Sometimes I pick this guide up in Marksand Spencer store although I live - and have lived in Zagreb all of my life... it is kind of fun and informative!
