Your lunch or dinner suggestions for Antibe, Cap Ferrat, & Villefranche-sur-Mer?
We have an auto and will be driving around the coast. We are not necessarily looking for a gourmet meal, but good food, pleasant service, and probably an outdoor dining option. Any tips you can share? Thanks a bunch.

Sorry, The African Queen may be alright for pizza but we had what I think I remember as a curry dish and the meat was distinctly WARMED OVER! And it was not cheap. But it is right by the harbor, in a covered over outdoor room. We had a delicious lunch on the patio of the Metropole Hotel in Beaulieu Sur Mer. Lunch right on the water is less expensive and less formal.

If you're ready for a day straight from "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" you can pay a day fee (seems like it was around $30) and use the gorgeous ocean-side pool at the Grand Hotel du Cap in St. Jean Cap-Ferrat. They do a wonderful lunch buffet in their open air poolside restaurant.

We had a wonderful bouillabaisse at Restaurant de Bacon. It is just outside Antibes on the coast road to Cap d'Antibes. We ate on a terrace overlooking the water. I can't recall exactly what we spent....it was a fairly expensive meal but absolutely worth it!

In St Jean the Royal Riviera has a very good restaurant with terrace; expensive.
In Cap d'Antibes, have lunch (or dinner, but I've only been at lunch) at Plage Keller, at the Plage de la Garoupe; right on the beach, very good food; I have been there often.
Going further along from Cap d'Antibes towards Juan les Pins there is a beach club on your left, Les Pecheurs, with two restaurants; one on the beach (pizza, salads, 'fusion' food) and a more expensive seafood restaurant upstairs, with terrace.
In Antibes, right on the city walls, there is La Jarre; very nice, but only indoors. On the same city wall, there is also Les Vieux Murs; some outdoor seating, very good food, not cheap!
I know of restaurant Bacon, in Antibes, but have never eaten there since several friends told me it was very overpriced; it's a nice location though.

Jeri, you rent chairs there. Can't remember exactly; 12 euros per chair I think, includes umbrellas.
There is a stunning path that you take from Plage de la Garoupe, all around the Cap. It's maybe a 45 min. walk, but absolutely beautiful. Allows you to see some of the houses there. Then you will have earned a glass of rose and some langoustines a l'ail at Keller afterwards!

It's at the plage de la Garoupe; follow the coastal road (bord de mer) through Antibes, direction Juan les Pins, and you will sea a sandy beach with a few beach clubs. (I think the sign says Cap d'Antibes par bord de mer)
Keller is the best, well known for its restaurant (it's the one with the yellow chairs and parasols).
If you drive up into Cap d'Antibes there's a lighthouse with great views; worth the climb up.
