Yet another Rome Hotel recommendation request!
We're looking for a hotel in Rome, within walking distance to the major sights (Colliseum, Trevi Fountain, etc), preferably with a view room, if not a terrace. It will be our last night in Italy, so want it to be special. Is there anything that meets our needs for about $350 a night? Thank you!

Try Hotel Accademia in Rome, very close to the Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps (however it is not walking distance to Colliseum).
I walked passed it a few times last year in Rome and thought when I have a better budget I would stay there...have a great trip

Perhaps Hotel Mozart/Vivaldi Suites?? There are rooms in the Hotel Mozart with private terraces, and rooms in Vivaldi Suites with views. They have jacuzzis, and sound romantic for your special last night. Good location. Prices vary depending on time of year; specials are available. I haven't stayed there (not in my budget, sigh) but have read the great descriptions and reviews on tripadvisor.com.

Hi
I like the looks of Albergo del Sole - http://www.solealbiscione.it.
For 150E you get a nice terrace and good location.
Let me know how you go. Don't forget to post a review on your return. If you give it the thumbs up I'll stay next year (I hope!). Thanks.
See ya

Be aware that 90% of people reporting stays at the Raphael say that they loved it - - and 10% report that they got tiny, dark, dingy rooms. It's very puzzling why such a class hotel has these (few) below standard rooms.
I can't believe that no one has suggested Albergo del Senato (might be a bit UNDER your price range).
I think that the message header of this post has led to fewer replies. If you recognize that yours is the 999th request for advice on Rome hotels - - why not tell us what are your leanings, or at least your impression from what you have read?
Best wishes,
Rex

Thank you for your recommendations!
Rex, thank you for your point. I guess my biggest request is making sure we have a room with a view. I've checked out a lot of the hotels that were recommended and none really say if the windows have a view or if the offer a terrace. We'd like safe and clean, and probably somewhat roomy, since my husband is 6' 6" and I'm almost 6'.
Thanks again!

I have stayed at Hotel Accademia by Trevi. It is a nice business hotel and not a boutique hotel. Our room, had a view, well, a view of the inner court where people keep all kinds of junk on the balcony. Because it was practically right next to the Trevi fountain, we went to the Trevi before 9am and had the place practically all by ourselves to enjoy the serenity, well, except for the ubiquitous policemen.
