WTnow - would love an update

Thanks WTnow for the weather update. The online weather reports vary greatly. I have heard everything from mid 70's and raining to hot and sunny.

If you are available, I would love another Santorini update. Six days and counting and I am excited!

Looking forward to more. Not sure how long you will be there, but we will arrive in Crete on Sunday and then have 16 days in Greece.

Enjoy!

hi hazardnc,

I am in santorini and it is hot. we are mainly wearing bathing suits and as little as possible. Probably less humid than NC, and can be cool and breezy in the shade.

it actually rained last night and this morning on and off early which is very unusual. I would mostly bring clothes for very hot weather , maybe one sweater and light rain jacket just in case. Most likely you will not wear the warmer stuff, but good to have. I saw someone wearing a jacket at dinner, but we had on sleeveless stuff ...even my 6yo.

Mostly it is beautiful. We will be here and in the islands about a month as we have a idyllic location here that is very peaceful so we are enjoying it.

It can get quite crowded and over touristy in Thira.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the new update. We will be in Santorini (Oia) for three nights after our initial visit to Crete, then move on to Milos and then Sifnos.

I am somewhat dismayed by the rain (please don't rain on us!) since I have read the islands typically get less than an inch, but with the weird weather these days, I am not totally surprised. We thought we might bring something to wear for cool evenings. Maybe if I come preapred for rain, I won't need it!

I will check back to this thread on Friday to see if you have had a chance to update again. I hope you are enjoying the food and the views.

It is still hot and gorgeous..the views are spectacular...get a place with views. But it is also a wacky touristy crazy place so be prepared for that and lots of walking up hills and VERY cobbly streets dodging crazy traffic.

do a wine tour...very nice in small places.

no rain since that one night. can be windy sometimes and some places on island.

the hills are sometimes quite frightening which is something I did not think ahead about, but views worth it. Bring good shoes, some of the beaches are trecherous to get to.

we love it, but we are off by ourselves.

Yes something warm for evening will be good ( altho we have not needed it) some people do.

Writing fast at an internet cafe with time running out..excuse my short hand.

The views are world class!!
