We put together a list of what we really want to see do and the day(s) of week they are closed (as best as we can figure) - then play it by ear once we get there. What to do depends on weather, mood, and what we did the night before (and how early we're willing to start). This has always worked fine for us.

But then we don;t travel at peak seasons (we usually do May or late Sept early Oct) and have never had a problem or long wait getting in anywhere.
