I can answer part of your question.
Mariahilfer Straße is a main street leading west from the city center.
The hotel is 4-star rated.
The location, you can see for yourself at this website:
http://asiatravel.com/austria/vienna/wienatterseehaus/location.html

The graphic referenced above shows exactly where the hotel is located -- more so than any verbal description.

Mariahilferstrasse is one of the main shopping streets in Vienna. However, it's open to motor vehicle traffic; it's not a pedestrian-only shopping area like the Karntnerstrasse. The shops vary in quality from truly distinctive to branches of European chains to the mundane (although if you are coming from the U.S., they may seem more different to you, since the brands are mostly European). The street itself is 2km, or 1.2 miles long. I don't know where 32-34 is, but if it's near the Westbahnhof (the "far" end of the street), figure on walking a mile to the Burg/Opern ring and then a few blocks more to get to the Graben/St. Stephan's Cathedral area. The u-bahn (subway) will be faster than walking, obviously.
It's certainly an ok area, but it's not in the very heart of things. If it's on the "near" end of the street, then figure about a 15-20 minute walk to St. Stephan's.
BTilke (Brussels)
