Where would you stay: Agrigento or Sciacca?

We will be in Sicily in October and will be leaving the Catania area ... have two days ... and then on to Erice. Where would you stay if you had two days? Which would you choose if your choice was between Agrigento and Sciacca? We will have already visited the Palermo area and the northeastern and eastern coast, as well as the Madonie Mountains region. Thank you.

It depends what you want to see during those 2 days. I would choose Sciacca because it is easy to day trip to Agrigento one day, then Selinunte the next.

We stayed in Sciacca for 3 nights last month. It was convenient to Agrigento, as well as Erice and Selinunte. But, I must say that the area (with the exception of the ruins) is ugly and shabby. (IMHO) Especially in comparison with the Eastern and interior portions of Sicily.

We stayed at a agritourismo that was wonderful however; Verdetecnica. Gracious hosts, reasonable prices and very comfortable accomodations.
