Where to stock up between Florence and Castellina in Chianti??
We are renting a car in Florence near the train station and driving to a house rental near Castellina in Chianti. Can someone give us suggestions for where to buy some groceries on the way to the house rental? Can be a combination of a daily market but we'll also need some supermarket (or small supermarket) goods as we are 8 people. I'd like to arrive with dinner and breakfast supplies. Google maps tells me it's only about 1 1/4 hours drive so anywhere along the way would work nicely. This will be on a Saturday early afternoon.
Thanks ever so much!

There's a Coop in Castellina, as well as smaller produce and cheese shop, deli, butcher, baker, enoteca, gelato shop... Don't forget to bring your own bags unless you want to buy "souvenir" bags.

I hope you will drive to Castellina from Florence on the beautiful and historic SR 222, the Chiantigiana. There is also a COOP in Greve where we shopped while staying in Panzano. We also bought fresh pasta and sauces in Greve at Pasta d'Autore in town. Fabulous.
Be aware of the hours of the grocery stores, including COOP as they close for "siesta" in the afternoon.
