Where to stay in Rome?
My husband and I are spending one day/night in Rome in October before we fly home. Since we have never been to Rome, we hope to see some of the "highlights" during the one day there. We need a hotel with a central location where it would be easy to walk to some places. We generally stay in 4* places. Any recommendations?

The Grand Hotel Minerve might be a 5 star, not sure, but it is an excellent hotel in a fantastic location.
Across the street is the smaller and less fancy but very pleasant Santa Chiara, and a couple of blocks from there, at the Pantheon, is the Albergo del Senato.

Hi
We stayed at the Santa Chiara in January. Great location around the corner from the Pantheon and within walking distance of everything else. We even walked to Vatican city from there. We would go back there without a doubt.

A vote for the Hotel del Senato right next to the Pantheon. From there you can walk to the Spanish steps, to Navona Square, Trevi Fountain, Pincio, the Vittoriano etc...
This hotel has had great reviews from a lot of fodorites through the years. do a research in this forum and you will get more info about it.
