Where to stay in Killarney?

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a place to stay in or around Killarney. We were looking at Vlleyview Farmhouse. Has anyone stayed there? Thanks.

We had dinner at Murphy's Pub with music starting at 9:30. Good pub food.

We wondered some of the back streets the following night and came across an Italian restaurant called L'Artesta. It was a bring your own wine and beer. An inexpensive change of pace. We shared a pizza and some mussels, and I had some of my own wine.

We stayed in a wonderful guesthouse last June, Killarney Lodge www.killarneylodge.net. It's an upscale B&B, so I don't know if it would fit your budget. It's on the outskirts of Killarney but within easy walking distance, convenient to everything. Very comfortable (a/c), great breakfasts, and the hostess, Catherine Treacey, is delightful. We also had a restaurant we really liked, but I can't remember the name--I'll post it when I track it down. Bricin is a restaurant that we didn't manage to check out (which I regret)--it was highly recommended.

I can second Killarney Lodge. Excellent in every respect on our visit last May. Not inexpensive, I seem to recall it being around $110 euros per night, but it has its own parking lot and you can walk to the rest of 'downtown' Killarney.

I can also recommend the Bricin. Very good food, one of the better restaurants we dined at in Ireland, although service was only fair.

We were very comfortable at Carriglea Farmhouse just outside of town, across from the entrance to the National Park. Beautiful old home with heavy embossed wallpaper. Not expensive at all.

We just got back from Ireland and enjoyed our stay at the Applecroft House in Killarney. Very nice, quiet location within walking distance to the town. One of the largest rooms during our trip as well.

We were in the Fuschia House right in the midst of town for about 80 Euro. They were very helpful and friendly and the b&b was very quaint, with our room overlooking their pretty gardens, and with a wonderful breakfast in their gorgeous sunroom.

Might mention a little B&B up the hill from town center which could be less expensive...Leen's B&B with fine Irish breakfast served by hostess Siobhan Leen.

I would recommend Coffey's Lough Lein Guest House Fossa +353 6431260. A bit out of town. Upscale B&B with great hosts. Right on the lake and beautiful location. Views from room and breakfast area. A great relaxing guest house. I stayed there last Aug. and had a nice time.
