Where to stay in Dolomites?

I have been asking questions about our trip to Northern Italy. Here are more! Where to stay in the Dolomites? Someone suggested Garni Ariston but they are not available at that time - early June. I have heard that the town of Brixon is beautiful. Should we stay there or try to find something in Val Gardena or elsewhere. Also, Venice? I am having a hard time finding anything available in the places I have checked for our stay! I am waiting for some replies, though.

Hi Rb - The best base IMO is Val Gardena (- Ortisei or Selva).

I usually stay in Ortisei at Hotel Villa Park - a B&B (3*)

How much do you want to spend? There are lots of excellent options in Val Gardena.

Another scenic alternative is Val Badia.

Brixen is certainly attractive to visit - but is not a good base for visiting the Dolomites IMO as it's too peripheral.

Hope this helps ...

Steve

Hey, the hotel Villa Park looks great! I will check it out. How about Venice? You rock, Steve.

Rb - You might want to check out the Val Gardena hotel catalogue for other options - you're spoilt for choice in that area.

SELVA:

Let me know if I can be of more help.

For Venice hotels I suggest you post a new thread.

Good luck.
