Logistics questions - venice and val gardena

Would it be possible to combine a few days in Venice with a few days skiing in val gardena? we have about 10 days total next march and I'm wondering if anyone else has done a trip like this? if so, is flying open jaws better or just in/out of venice? are trains the best way to transport or is a rental car necessary? we're fine with either option. mid-grade skiing family but I'm not crazy about spending all the time on the slopes! thx

Absolutely. Here is a website that talks about how to get to the Val Gardena. http://www.dolomitisuperski.com/gard...3&MES=2189

You can do it with trains, though a rental car may give you more freedom. Just make sure that it has chains...the roads are super twisty and with snow...

Cortina would probably be easier to get to, but I like the Val Gardena better!

Cheers,
Jan

CM - How much do you want to pay?

You can find a complete list on the Val Gardena website:
www.val-gardena.com

I stayed at a 3* garni (B&B) in the middle of Ortisei and can recommend it:
www.snaltnerhof.it

Hope this helps ...
