Where to find Airline Ticket Deals?

Well, that is my question. I've read some talking about Airfare deals that they have missed, etc. Where do you go on the internet and how often do you check it?

Set up a fare watcher on Travelocity for the route you're interested in. (Consider options like-if you want to go to Paris, look at your city to London & then use easyjet, ryanair etc. to Paris.) Fares seem to change on midnight Tuesdays according to experts here. Fares can also change hourly

If there's one airline in partciular that flies your route, enroll in their ff program & ask for email on special promos. If interested in pkgs (air + hotel) check travelzoo.com & gate1.com

That's a start.

Thank you for such a quick reply. I can go standby using my daughter's travel benefits, but there never seems to be seats available these days.

SideStep is very good, they compile a list of all the lowest prices from the other travel sites.
The price we got for Germany was lower than any other site I checked.

On the other hand, for me, SideStep has never been the cheapest choice.

If you are flying standby just build in a "buffer" zone in case you can't get out on a particular day. But if you stay on top of the boarding totals you should be able to get a flight. What airline?

Princess, it is true that fairs can change hourly. I booked a flight to Germany this week. While searching for a ticket, I found one for $1198. Four hours later I showed my mother the same itinerary (sp?) and the price was $1218. Yesterday, when I booked my ticket, the itinerary was $1248. It is sure to happen.
I would set up a fare watcher. Just keep a look out. That's what I have done for the last few months, and I found a really good price. All of the prices I have found previously were way more expensive. When you think you have spotted a deal, buy the ticket.

One problem with travelocity, expedia, etc., is that they only search the airlines with which they are affiliated.

QIXO at http://www.qixo.com/index.html?QIXO_...4f71999beab80a

is said to search all of the other searchers, so you get a better chance of finding the best flight. When I have used this site, if has been pretty slow; I don't know if thats the site or my own computer.

and post also on the Cheap Flights forum of www.eurotrip.com (not affiliated with the silly new movie! lol!)

Best wishes,
