Where do we stay in Paris?

I have been searching for hotels and can't make a decision. Where do we stay that is located within walking distance of many attractions? My husband and I like to stay in very nice hotels and like it to be clean and queit. We are looking at the 5th or 6th Aron. in Paris. Would this be the area for us? We also like fine dining and good wines. we also like jazz clubs and walks along the Seine at night. Your opinions please! I have looked at web sites for the following hotels Hotel le Ste Beuve, Hotel de Fleurie, Ferrandi, and Hotel des Jardin du Luxemborug. Any input on these hotels would be appreciated. We are going to Paris in Sept.
Take a look at Le Regent in the 6th. It's a block from the Seine, adjacent to a pedestrian street market, less than 2 blocks to St. Germain, a few blocks from Luxembourg Gardens and a block and a half from the metro. We have stayed at the Marriott in the 8th, the Hotel du Louvre in the 1st, but Le Regent is our favorite. It is close to Notre Dame and Ile de St. Louis. It is 183 Euro. Some rooms have balconies and the hotel is air conditioned.

Hi Diane. A few years ago I helped out a woman from LA with her first trip to Paris. She stayed at the Hotel Fleurie and loved it. I believe I still have her email address so if you're interested in communicating with her about specifics, let me know (either here or via email) and I'll check with her. My address: [email protected]

From the four hotels you mentioned, the Hotel de Fleurie fits your requirements nicely. It's in the 6th dist. which is really central to the Seine. It's got great service, nice rooms, and a nice buffet breakfast.

My two favorites are:
(1) Hotel La Perle, a nice little hotel in the 6th near everything.
(2) Libertel Bellechasse, half a block from the Seine and a stone's throw from the Musee' d'Orsay.

I'll be planning a stay at the La Perle myself this summer. Enjoy your trip.
