i am in NY, and weather can not decide what to do: rains like hell, 5 min later it is sunny. It annoys me and I have a blind date tonight, and I really don't want to go. Why am I doing it to myself?

Spent the weekend out at the US Open at Bethpage State Park in NY. Rained like a monsoon on Friday, but did not dampen spirits. Had a great day on Sunday, except Mickelson choked again!!!!! Have a great week all. Hey Elvira, got Stones tix for September at Giants Stadium Yahoo

The weather in DC this weekend was very pleasant, humid but not hot. Took my sweetie to see "About a Boy" Friday night which we both loved. Saturday we drove out to rural Maryland & Virginia with the top down -- perfect weather for it -- and did some poking around for antiques. Didn't find any we couldn't live without, but did stop at a lovely nursery and bought some sweet basil and rosemary plants for my kitchen window and a couple of nice ceramic pots. On the way back we stopped at a fresh produce stand by the road and got some fresh sweet corn, which we had for dinner when we got home with some delicious lamb chops grilled with fresh rosemary and baby spinach...mmm. Sunday met my mom for lunch and took her to see "Ya Ya Sisterhood" -- a little mother-daughter bonding on Father's Day. I love summer weekends.

Here in Seattle it is a little rainy and foggy. The cool breeze felt good this morning.
I had a wonderful weekend. 2 co-workers came over yesterday and we pretended we were in Italy. We ate baugettes, dipping pieces in olive oil and balsamic vinegar. We had grapes, strawberries, and baby carrots. We had Sardo cheese from Sardinia and pepperoni sticks. We drank Italian wine made from Barbera grapes. Needless to say it was a wonderful time. After that we went down to the famous Pike Place Market to the Italian grocer (De Laurenti's)and bought cookies, a Tuscan loaf and more cheese.. Another wonderful Sunday in Seattle...
Janda

Just got back from Shanghai and Hong Kong last night. It was hot and hazy and I've developed a very bad rash on my face. I'm now home in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, planning my next trip to Milan at the end of July.

roly, are you there? Where in Cornwall? I've always wanted to visit. Is it possible to travel in your area using buses or trains? J.
