Here in my part of Massachusetts it is dreary, rainy and cold - cold enough to turn on the heat even though the calendar says June 15!

Nothing much going on...almost time to start cooking dinner (inside, of course) - salmon and a big salad.

Happy Father's Day to all the dads our there!

That's strange, I just signed back on and my message reappeared.....Sue, that's so funny about your dogs, mine always go for the stone floor on the dog days of summer too..Elvira, my son has bought some tickets for the Stones here in NYC and I'm hoping he'll sell me one but I expect he's looking for a BIG profit and I'll just have to settle for a CD.

80's, 90's or 100's and sunny here in So Calif. depending how close to the beach or how far inland you are. Live close to the beach so weather is usually nice. Just finished teaching my database class. Air cut out and with 15 computers room got really hot so students bugged out a little early.
Hi there Art! I was thinking we hadn't seen you around here for a while, though I just now did a search on your e-mail name, and I see you have posted a half dozen times in the last week or two. Hope you are doing well, and figuring out what your next travel plans are going to be.

Summer is whizzing by and I am still curious whether a fall trip is going to be possible (Fodorites' seems unlikely at this point - - maybe just my wife and I - - wish it could be a "scouting trip" to some plan for next spring).

Any destination of interest to you if a Fodorites' trip would be possible in April, May or June?
Spent a lazy rainy day here in Maine. Just caught "Bourne Identity" @ the cinema tonight. Did not realize it takes place in Paris. Was fun trying to identity different neighborhoods in the flic as just returned from Paris last month. Enjoyed it alot.

Lovely warm, clear day in North Central Florida. Watered plants, tied back the climbing roses, checked the baby mockingbirds and the chrysalis - no black swallowtail yet - wandered the perimeter with the cats, and came into work to plan my impulse trip to Grand Cayman next Sunday. (Once I get back the budget planning and close-out work won't let up until October.) Happy lazy Sunday to all!

<<Summer is whizzing by>>

Yes, I agree that this was an odd expression on my part - - in fact, I just reminded my kids last week that summer doesn't even start until later this week.

Nevertheless, the start of "the summer travel season" clearly IS whizzing by. On the one hand, I agree that the best two weeks of "summer" (especially for Europe travel) occur (the U.S.) Labor Day. Still, I think of "summer" as starting at the end of May, and ending the first if September.
I'm in central Florida. The weather is overcast and humid as usually. We get our afternoon thunder showers everyday around three o'clock. I'm working this weekend, and extremely bored as well. I sit alone in a storage facility all day. I'm sorry for you chilly people up north. I grew up in Maine, and I remember it well.

Surprisingly moderate (high 80s) weather in west central Alabama. Beautiful day yesterday when we spent the afternoon boating and swimming
from a sandbar on the Black Warrior River with children, grandchildren, and four dogs. Kids loved being pulled on a new "tube" (Father's Day gift. Home to grill ribs and sip margaritas.

Just finished a walk on the Pacific ocean beach behind the Spanish Bay Golf course in beautiful Pacific Grove, California. Sunny, bright and about 70 degrees today as the Pacific Ocean looks great.May run over to Carmel or down to Big Sur later. Hard to beat!

Very HOT, HOT, HOT here in Arizona-current temp is 105. I just got back Friday night form Italy. This is the first day I'm feeling like myself. I'm watching the US Open & wishing Micklson had a shot at winning. I'm just getting ready to open & ENJOY a COLD Bud Light!
