When to book Rome apartment?

My wife and I and our 16 year old granddaughter are headed to Rome the first week of September and want to get a 2 BR apartment. Should I look at booking now or wait until say June or July? Thanks in advance for any tips.

If you don't care where you stay, you can wait as long as you wish, but I can assure you many of the "best" 2 bedroom apartments are already reserved for September and your choices are already more limited.

I would go for it now. For both Rome and Florence, we did not get our first choice apartments and both of these have been booked for nearly a month now. In Florence we didn't even get our second choice! And we're going a couple of weeks later than you. Good luck!

We've booked for November (that's low season).

I booked the one we just stayed at in Rome last June. As the others have said, do it now.

Can anyone recommend an apartment that they have stayed in, in Rome, that they would love to stay in again? Iamq.... it appears that you can recommend one..what company did you rent from?
Please advise. Thanks

welig12.
We booked the "La Giulia" apartment through ItalyPerfect. It is a small studio apartment a few blocks from Piazza Farnese and Campo dei Fiori. We liked it and would rent it again. ItalyPerfect was great to work with.

Look at www.slowtrav.com. It has reviews of rentals and rental agencies, as well as lots of other information about traveling in Italy.

I would book at once. I am planning on being in Rome the last week of Rome and many apartments that I looked at were booked. It took many emails and research to finally find an apartment.

Hello. We just came back from Rome and would highly recommend either this apartment or this agency. Very easy to deal with as well as very reasonable prices. I cannot stop raving about this place - better than the pictures with a host that speaks English.
