Wheelchair in Paris

We will be in Paris for a month next April.
Does anyone know where (or if) we can rent a wheelchair (or motorized scooter) for that time period?
Thanks.

I don't know about motorized scooters, but am sure you can rent a wheelchair for that time. Do you know French? Just go look in the Paris yellow pages for location de fauteuils roulants.

www.pagesjaunes.fr

A lot of pharmacies rent them, such as this one www.pmv75.com (even though that's in Belleville). It also says Pharmacie du Bataclan at 34 bd Voltaire, 11e and Paris Pharma at 104 rue St Dominique, 7e rent them, for two.

or look for a store with "materiel medical" which should include wheelchairs.

This place for medical supplies near the big hospital in the 13th definitely has them, but I don't know if they rent

Thank you, Christina.
I don't speak French, but my wife does.
Long walks are difficult for my wife, so it's reassuring to know that wheelchairs are available if necessary.

If you wife can read French well, that will help.

I found a page with a lot of information on transportation and various services on the Paris Tourist Office website. This is it
http://www.parisinfo.com/plan-paris/...handicapees-5/

It does list some equipement rental companies, I noticed this one specifically says it has both wheelchairs and scooters:
http://www.amma.fr

Unfortunately, it appears to be in Argenteuil, which is a NW suburb of Paris. The RER C3 line does go there. Howeer, if they do, others must in Paris, and at least it's a contact. If you had to call them, they might know of some other place. Wheelchairs will be much easier to find.

You can rent a wheelchair at a pharmacy. Also, most of the major museums have them on offer. Staff are very good about leading you to special elevators, too.

If you're staying at a hotel the concierge can organize a scooter rental for you. (I've done this for speakers at meetings I've organized.)

Even if you're not staying at a hotel - you might email a large one near where you'll be staying and ask for contacts.
