What's up Air France?

Another pilot from Air France was detained at JFK for joking about security procedures. The flight was canceled and the passengers had to book on other flights. What is going on with Air France and their pilots?

That is truely sad that anyone would think security is a joking matter. I have friends in Britain and France who told me that they have heard a tall tale going around saying that the twin towers horror was just a Hollywood stunt. Is that shocking or what? People never cease to amaze and bewilder.

They tried to help in Iraq, we wouldn't listen. We know it all and don't need to listen.

Please, please, it has nothing to do with Iraq.

It has to do with being French.

(If the same thing happens to pilots from other countries, just substitute that country in the above.)

okay, politics aside, I must admit that every time I travel on Air France there seems to be massive confusion with the flight. This seems especially true at CDG (a nightmare in itself). Does anyone have hints on how to cajole the Air France staff into boarding passes for the seats to which you were actually assigned? The last two flights they seemed to think putting me on a completely different plane the next day was acceptable......

That's interesting. I thought our one and only experience with AF was a fluke. MIA to CDG was uneventful, but the return was a big anxiety attack. Change gate (faaaar away), change time (earlier), 2 generations with us had to beg & plead to get on plane after security closed, bussed us all over the airport, reassigned seats (grandchildren separated from parents), left 1.5 hrs. late. All turned out okay in the end, but it was upsetting.

I agree with all the other complaints. Going through CDG from Europe to the states seems to be impossible. I have flown through about 5 times, and every single time, the plane has been delayed--up to 10 hours. There is mass confusion as the previous poster said, and CDG isn't even a fun airport to hang around in (I like Amsterdam and Heathrow if I have to wait around). I

like Air France, once I am in the air, but I hate CDG so much that I have switched airlines.

The french have always been one of thier own greatest enemies!

Is it true old Sadam is hiding in Chirac's bedroom and being charged 10,000E a night with taxes and breakfast not included?

I belive he is renting a room from Sarkozy (it was a bit more expensive but included a traditional Iraqi breakfast). This, then explains Sarkozy's rising popularity with the French people.

Note to Saddam: Next time try Priceline or one of those discount web sites. Ten thousand euro per person (?) per night seems a little steep to me, but then maybe not for some of you folks on this forum.
