What would you do - Airfare? ???

I was quoted the below prices from gemut.com ... would you buy them now or wait for a sale (knowing that there may not be one)? .. Summer is peak season and world cup is going on ...

7/28 from IAD to FRA
8/11 from FRA to IAD
total: 1077.38

7/28 from IAD to FRA
8/19 from CDG to IAD
Total: $1107.76

Would you book it or wait?

Thanks!

Normally I would wait at least until the end of February, but that's if you're willing to slavishly check the fares every day to spot a temporary drop. It's also assuming there will be sales as in past years, but everything has become awfully funky -- new fees, rising fuel costs, etc. -- making it hard to rely on past experience!!

katzen,

Are those non-stop? If yes, I would grab them now.

World Cup is the month of July only, so I don't see where that would have an impact. Seems pretty high to me, I would be patient.

I don't know the airport codes you've listed but I if it is not on the East Coast I would say take it, expecially if it is non-stop. I am still waiting for a sale, though, New York to Italy in June. If one doesn't show up soon I may book Aer Lingus and spend 6 hours the Dublin airport instead of eating gelato in Venice! (

You may also want to try flying out of BWI & flying to Munich ? Also, check out Iceland Air, as long as you don't mind a lay-over in Iceland, you may find some deals there.

Thanks for the posts!! They are not non-stop. IAD is Dulles (washington, DC). I thought they were pretty high myself!

I would consider the two other DC-area airports to get lower fares.
