What was your best/cheapest fare to Ireland on Aer Lingus?
We are planning to go the end of June and were wondering what we might expect to pay and how soon in advance we should buy our tickets?
Flying from L.A. California on Aer Lingus.
Thanks!

We fly LAX to Dubin direct on Aer Lingus only now (the stops at all the other places just make the day too long). Though we normally go in April when the prices are down we have gone once in June ('99) and once in July ('01). Both times tickets were around $800 each so if you can find them for cheaper than that GET 'EM!
For April you can get as low as $450 (we got them through Sceptre) though $600 is more usual. If you fly in during the week days it's usually cheaper than weekends and there's always a fee for flying into Dublin though you can't go directly to Shannon. Check out Aer Lingus web site and keep your eyes open.
Good luck!

PS Ticket prices will probably start to drop right after the new year but it's best to watch them on a weekly basis. I think prices change in the middle of the week. (Is that right? Help me out people...) Once it starts to get close to March the prices usually start creeping up and just keep going. It really depends on how early and how many other people book their flights, too. In short (too late), about 5-6 months in advance.
