Usually, a topic is "topped" to bring it forward from the depths of topics because of its relevance to a current posting. Rather than reiterate its contents in response to a current posting, the anonymous topper simply resurrects it by replying to it. One of life's little miracles is how anyone can remember a relevant topic from days, weeks or months prior to the current request.

Thank you for your quick reply Wes. This site has a great search history. So good in fact, that is was this first question I've had to ask. Thanks again!

Outside the gentle world of this forum, "topping" has an explicitly sexual (primarily homosexual) meaning.... Just so you know.

Some posts never die, they just get topped away.

I think topping is gratuitous and mischievous.

In response to Martin...

Will I like it? and Will it hurt?

These same two questions were considered too adult for an earlier thread (Two questions about my honeymoon...) and got censored by Fodors.

So I suppose Martin's posting and this reply will be removed too...

It's interesting that what can be on the "family hour" on network TV is too risque for this board.
