What is "topping"
 

Only found this site a week ago, need help on some of the thread slang and proceedures. What is topping and why is it done? Thanks for the info!!

Usually, a topic is "topped" to bring it forward from the depths of topics because of its relevance to a current posting. Rather than reiterate its contents in response to a current posting, the anonymous topper simply resurrects it by replying to it. One of life's little miracles is how anyone can remember a relevant topic from days, weeks or months prior to the current request.

Outside the gentle world of this forum, "topping" has an explicitly sexual (primarily homosexual) meaning.... Just so you know.
