double glazed no doubt refers to the windows, offering a certain amount of soundproofing. I assume you're looking at a hotel on a busy city street?

I always thought it meant two layers of sugar. Oh well, I guess that licking of the windows in my hotel rooms wasn't all for naught since at least I got them clean.

Hi

Double glazing is primarily for heat insulation. Hot and cold.

In some downtown areas it helps with sound insulation.

In Scandinavia triple glazing has been the norm for 25 years, and quadruple is now available.

Most Southern European double glazing has too small an air gap to be too effective ........ like in my house !

Peter
Thanks, Mary, but out of deference to our appointed president, I'm leaving all the mirrors for him.
