How long is the Scavi tour? I have already booked it for March. Well I think I have. I have a confirmation with a date and time but I had to send payment and I am still waiting for that confirmation. I'm wondering if I should book a guided Vatican tour on the same day, I'm already in so do I get to stay in or do you they make you leave?

What is the best time of day to visit The Borghese Galleries in August? I can deal with heat better than crowds.

jodybocc, we have a scavi tour set for 9:15am and then a ContextRome Vatican tour set for 1:30 - IN 10DAYS!

About 2 months ago, I emailed the Vatican about getting reservations for the scavi excavations and the other day I got confirmation for my visit in October - 9:15am, English tour. I was quite surprised, as I expected to hear from them in September.

I want to now work on getting a Vatican museum tour booked following the morning visit.

I was just looking online at the www.vatican.va web site and didn't see where I can book directly online. Or do I need to call?

You can only book the guided Vatican tours by fax. The fax number is at the bottom of the page.
