What do I need to reserve in Rome
#62
Traveler2 - The Vatican museum is huge and the Sistine Chapel is but one room in it. You can just pay regular museum admission and find the chapel on your own or you can reserve a tour through the Vatican which will include part of the museum and the chapel. There's a Vatican led tour that includes the gardens if that interests you. You could spend an entire day in the museum and not see everything.
The Vatican doesn't have tours on the free Sunday and yes, it will likely be crowded. Since you are going in March, summer hours will be in effect so last entrance is at 15:20 with exit at 16:45. On Saturday's and the free Sunday last admission will be at 12:20 with exit at 13:45. Here's the tour link.

kybourbon: Thank you. You have been so helpful! I would dearly love to see the gardens but with limited time and I will have my g.daughter, so have to consider her needs. Hopefully we will have time to see the Borghese while we are in Rome.

Here is the link for the Vatican Museum hours. I am also going late march and plan to book a tour through the vatican (link a few posts above), just waiting to get the fax number to my hotel so I'm sure I receive the voucher.
I went in March a few years ago and arrived around 12:00 and waited about 45 min to get in.
