Wedding in May - Avignon

Hello I am thinking of getting married in Avignon in the last week of May. However, it is important to me for it not to be raining or windy. Therefore do you think the last week of May would be taking a big risk? Or is the weather typically pleasant by then?

Many thanks

No one can predict the weather, but you can find climate statistics at weatherbase.com

Thank you for your reply I completely understand what you are saying. I have spent ages looking at various weather statistics websites, however as it is such a special and important day I decided that it would in addition be really valuable to me to hear some real person experiences.

No one can predict the weather, however there are certain regions at certain times of the year where you can give reasonably accurate assertions. For example England in January - I can guarantee you it will be cold and you will require a coat.

i just wondered what the weather is like in Avignon at the end of May. Would you say is it a time of year and region that is completely unpredictable?

Regardless of what the weather will be like have you looked into the legalities of it all? What paperwork you need to marry in France? Or is "getting married in Avignon" only a ceremony/party and you will have already legally married in your own country?

I will be marrying in my own country and this will be a ceremony/party only.

If your country is france you know the idiom : en mai fais ce qu'il te plait. Valid even in the north. So in the south should be ok. Should.
Wind however is another issue. Bouches du rhone is known to be windy.

This is a phenomenally silly question. NOBODY has any idea what the weather will be like on any particular day at the end of May in Avignon. Are you daft?

There is no need to be offensive.

I have been in that area a fair amount around that time and have had zero times when it was raining. IME, mid to late summer is more of a risk in that area for thunder storms. However, we have been in Provence and Languedoc during late May early June when it has been quite hot-so definitely look for properties with A/C. If it is any consolation, in France like in several other countries and cultures, rain on your wedding day is considered a good luck omen.

Offensive? How about realistic? I live here. You can't plan the weather.
