weather in italy

I've been monitoring the weather in Italy for weeks - always sun sun sun and more sun (maybe too much?). Of course now - two days from our trip - the forecast is filled with clouds and thunderstorms! OH NO!

Someone, please tell me that it will still be beautiful in Rome and Orvieto next week, and that we'll be able to lounge by our swimming pool in the afternoon.

We had a rainy forecast when we went last April. However, the rain turned out to typically be a few showers or a short downpour in the late afternoon, with a fair amount of sun most of the day - nothing to put a damper on our fun. Sometimes a little overcast is welcome, especially if you are doing some sightseeing.

Forecast in the Rome area says weather partially sunny for the next 4 days .
Temperature : high around 31 C, low around 20 C.
Rains and summer thunderstorms are expected mostly in northern Italy.
Good weather forecast information available on the website of national meteorological service www.meteoam.it
It is in italian only but quite easy to understand once you notice that "previsione 1g" "previsione2g" etc mean 1 day/2 days forecast.

Dear txtree:
I just put a super-good spell on your trip: "Wherever you go, sit or lounge the weather will be to your liking, not too hot and not to cold, absolutely perfetto"
